JWC SNP 17-001 - Clinical implementation of a polygenic risk score (PRS) for breast cancer: impact on risk estimates, management recommendations, clinical outcomes, and patient perception

This is a multi-center study regarding single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) as modifiers of breast cancer risk. It is a prospective investigation assessing the impact of the PRS on breast cancer risk management recommendations and on patients, clinical outcomes, and their risk perception. This study will also compare breast cancer risk calculated by the PRS to that calculated by existing breast cancer risk assessment models. Past medical history, family history, management recommendations, management decisions, patient impact, clinical outcomes, and patient risk perception will be collected from medical records, study forms, and questionnaires.
